Key figures from Google and elite sports bodies have joined forces with GoJoe, the health performance benefit, as strategic advisors to the business.
Chuxx Onyia (Health and Performance Lead EMEA at Google) and Stuart Ramsey (Commercial and Marketing specialist with experience at the RFU, FA and Team GB) will add their market-leading credentials to help GoJoe on their mission to motivate the masses to get and stay fit and healthy.
The pair will support GoJoe’s founders and wider business in a number of key growth areas, including continued product development, distribution and market expansion in the UK, US and globally.
GoJoe, who announced a £2.4m round of funding led by Venrex Partners and Redrice Ventures in June last year, combine a suite of AI-powered tools across social connection, gamified health, personalised journeys, and rewards to supercharge motivation to get and keep their users fitter and healthier.
And by working directly with businesses to deliver better health across their employees, GoJoe’s innovations help these organisations achieve the ‘holy grail’ of predictive health and health costs for their employees, with customers soon being able to measure, predict and affect overall productivity and bottom line performance.
Co-founder and CEO Will Turner said: “As individuals, Chuxx and Stuart bring incredible experience to GoJoe. The expertise they possess in their respective areas and industries are unrivalled and complement each other as well as the existing team here. To be able to pool that knowledge and bring it into GoJoe will be invaluable as we look to further develop our offering for clients and users, as well as grow the business further in 2025 and beyond. After an exciting 2024 for the business, and strong growth plans in place for the next 12 months, it’s a great time to be adding this level of knowledge into GoJoe.”
It's been a busy 12 months for GoJoe, with the platform used in over 100 countries and working alongside the likes of Specsavers, NatWest, and Centrica to help boost health, fitness, and performance. The platform has also expanded to include new features such as rewards, activity clubs, and a content partnership with global group fitness brand Les Mills. All with the ordinary Joe front and centre of mind and how best to get them moving more, staying motivated and performing better.
Chuxx Onyia, Health and Performance Lead EMEA at Google said: “I'm most excited about GoJoe's innovative approach to employee health and wellbeing. GoJoe isn’t just about fitness; it’s about creating an environment where employees feel supported and motivated to make healthier choices. In today’s world, where employee engagement and retention are paramount to business success, the GoJoe offer of a unique solution with a gamified approach and data-driven insights are among the reasons this company stands out for me.
It's a powerful tool for organisations looking to boost productivity, reduce healthcare costs, and foster a thriving workplace culture. I’m confident that together, we can take GoJoe to new heights and help even more organisations create a healthier, happier, and more engaged workforce.”
Stuart Ramsey, Sports Commercial and Marketing specialist said: “I am delighted to sit alongside such esteemed individuals to back a truly game changing movement and methodology to health and wellness. I have been privileged throughout my career to see the power of sport change lives for the better and GoJoe has the power to do this at scale throughout the workplace while making meaningful changes to productivity of the businesses it helps. I am delighted to work with the team to help reframe how the GoJoe platform can make their investments in sport, health and fitness work harder for their employees and add real bottom line business benefit.”
